Colin Caldwell Russell was appointed Falkland Pursuivant Extraordinary on 1st September
2021 and advanced to Bute Pursuivant in 2024.
He is a Specialist Podiatrist working for NHS Scotland. He is an Officer of the Venerable
Order of St John of Jerusalem and Cross-Bearer for the Priory of Scotland; he is a Knight of
Justice and Secretary General of the Military and Hospitaller Order of St Lazarus of Jerusalem
Grand Bailiwick of Scotland, and is a Worship Leader and an Interim Moderator in Presbytery
of Forth Valley and Clydesdale of the Church of Scotland . Colin Russell is a Member of the
Royal College of Podiatry and a member of the Incorporation of Tailors of Glasgow.
He holds the Coronation Medal.
First mentioned in 1488 the title of Bute
Pursuivant derives from the Island of
Bute where the royal castle of Rothesay
is situated. The badge was designed by
David Sellar and Lyon Blair.
